University of Illinois Harp Studio Presentation

It was my pleasure to once again meet virtually with the U of I harp studio!

By request, I was asked to speak about developing a private harp studio and what that entails (equipment, psychology of working with different age groups, assembling music tracks for them), how to navigate some tricky specific client situations as a professional, and how to keep the joy and passion of performing alive even while keeping the practicalities of businesses in place.

Thanks to my brave 11yo student, H, who gave her permission along with her parents for me to include some before-and-after practicing sessions in my slideshow and some of our text message conversations about progressing in lessons. The practical example really helped to show what works really well in this phase of our student-teacher teamwork!
